Ms. Weidong Xu has 25 years of leadership experience in the mechanical and plant engineering sectors as well as the automotive supply industry.
As a proven China specialist, she possesses a deep understanding of state-owned, private, and Western corporate structures and is an expert at aligning Western corporate governance with Chinese operational realities.
Her career is marked by the successful management of complex transformations and post-merger integrations (PMI). In her role as interim CEO of a global technology group, she was responsible for global leadership during a crisis year, implemented comprehensive efficiency programs, and stabilized the operational sites in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She also demonstrated her strength in turnaround management by successfully rebuilding a medium-sized mechanical engineering company following insolvency, playing a key role in regaining the trust of customers and suppliers.
She has also contributed her strategic expertise to supervisory and advisory boards, where she led M&A projects to success by mediating between investors and employee representatives.
Currently, as a Managing Director at a management consulting firm, she advises her clients on M&A processes with a focus on post-merger integration and management coaching. She is an excellent communicator who operates confidently at the executive level in German, Chinese, and English.
